Sondra Payne is a financial consultant with The BlackOak Group and part of the Elite Advisor Group. In 2008, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her career in the financial services industry began with Equitable Advisors, LLC and has delivered successful results for clients ever since.
Following her successful completion of a Certificate in Retirement Planning from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Sondra has been awarded the Retirement Planning Specialist title by Equitable Advisors. In 2014, she obtained her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation followed by the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst ® (CDFA) designation in 2018. As a result, she is able to assist clients going through the divorce process and provide confidence in their financial decisions.
Moreover, she has consistently been recognized with numerous awards within the industry (Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), National Leaders Corps (NLC), the Centurion award, and the Bronze Eagle award). In 2021, Sondra was inducted into the Equitable Hall of Fame for ten consecutive years of National Leaders Corp.
During her career, Sondra has made it her personal commitment to assist not-for-profit organizations, women owned businesses, individuals, and families prosper financially. In addition to her work, she is committed to helping others outside of the office. Sondra’s charitable involvement includes operating the Janet R. Payne Memorial Scholarship selection and planning committee. She established this scholarship in memory of her late mother-in-law. It is funded through the organization of Pioneer High School alumni sporting events and is given to two graduating seniors each year (with an additional donation to breast cancer research). Throughout the year, she mentors fellow Equitable colleagues on a variety of initiatives including professional development, personal growth opportunities, and leadership development.
As a resident of the southtowns, Sondra has her own detached office in Hamburg, NY (190 Sunset Drive). When not at the office, her life is consumed with time with her two sons, Camden and Nixon, and her husband Brennan. Her hobbies include travel, wine, and spinning.
